I used this on the back of a t-shirt for our Sr. High youth group at Gethsemane Lutheran Church. I pulled the shirt out of my closet the other day and was struck again by the saying's significance.
As we prepare ourselves for 40 days during this Lenten journey, i am struck by the idea that grace interrupts the consequences of our actions. God chose not to stand off at a distance and issue traffic citations on the roadway of life; God chose instead to walk the dusty road of real life and be with us along the way.
Are you observing Lent this year? Are you giving up chocolate but otherwise going on with the same hectic pace in your everyday? Maybe you might consider slowing down, breathing, and seek refreshment from the source of life.
