"Advent is Waiting;" reposting from two years hence.

Celebrating Advent is a waiting.
Waiting, however, is a kind of art
the memory of which our most impatient age has forgotten...
For those things which are greatest,
most profound,
most gentle in the world,
we must wait:
trusting where the hand of the one who created is guiding;
seeing with eyes kept open of wonder and faith;
being consumed by a story that came years gone bye but continues still;
a new life found.
 But waiting is so very hard for us.
We expect all now.
 Nothing great happens in a rush,
but only according to the uncontrollable divine laws
of germination and growth and becoming.

inspired by the words of Dietrich Bonhoeffer
